Education Outreach

Not only does the Rialto Center at Georgia State University present the very best in jazz, contemporary dance, and world arts to the Atlanta community, it also provides a unique and innovative educational outreach program to school students and the general public alike.

Among the activities the Rialto offers are master classes for university and high-school students; open rehearsals and pre-show lectures for the general public; as well as workshops and demonstrations for students and families, utilizing the Rialto Series artists’ world-class talents. Every third Wednesday of the month the Rialto hosts the GSU and downtown community for a lunch and learn called Feed Your Senses.

Most importantly, the Rialto Center, in collaboration with the Georgia State University School of Music, has developed “Rialto Jazz for Kids," a comprehensive, curriculumbased jazz education program offered to elementary and middle school students led by musician and educator Dr. Gordon Vernick.
