Garth Fagan, known for his choreography in The Lion King, and his company celebrate their 36th anniversary season.  Garth Fagan Dance are renowned for their individuality, unmannered approach, and virtuosity.  One of the great reformers of American dance, Fagan’s dance language draws on many sources:  the sense of weight in modern dance, the torso-centered movement and energy of Afro-Caribbean, the speed and precision of ballet, and the rule breaking experimentation of the post-moderns.  Their distinctive movement quality comes from years of training in Fagan Technique, the teaching method Fagan developed hand-in-hand with his on dance vocabulary when he started the ensemble in 1970.  His creation of the internationally acclaimed Garth Fagan Dance, has led to new strides within the modern dance genre, and they bring their fearless repertoire to the Rialto stage.
